Copy and paste is one of the most basic functions in Microsoft Office programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel. But did you know there are different ways to copy and paste text and/or format in these programs? Copying and pasting text in Word is simple. Just highlight the text you want to copy, right-click on it, and select “Copy” or press “Ctrl+C” on your keyboard. To paste the text, place your cursor where you want the text to go and right-click again, then select “Paste” or press “Ctrl+V.”
But what if you want to copy and paste a whole paragraph, or multiple paragraphs, without having to highlight all the text? You can use the “Select” feature in Word to highlight a whole paragraph. To do this, place your cursor anywhere in the paragraph, then triple-click. The entire paragraph will be highlighted. You can then copy and paste as usual.

To use the Fill Handle, select the cell with the formula you want to copy, then click and drag the small black box in the bottom right-hand corner of the cell down to the cells you want to paste the formula into. The formulas will be automatically adjusted to fit the new cells.

Copying format in Word is useful when you want to apply the same formatting to multiple parts of a document. To copy format, highlight the text with the format you want to copy, right-click, and select “Copy.” Then, highlight the text you want to apply the format to, right-click, and select “Paste Special” from the drop-down menu. In the Paste Special dialog box, select “Format” and click “OK.”
You can also use the Format Painter to copy format in Word. To use the Format Painter, highlight the text with the format you want to copy, then click the “Format Painter” button in the Home tab of the ribbon. Your cursor will turn into a paintbrush.
